What is the Growing Young Executive Program?

Growing Young Executives is a two-week summer program that invites rising high school juniors and seniors to become part of an exploration of fundamental business and career success principles.

Dates:  June 29th-July 10th, 2009

What attendees can expect:

  • The curriculum of the Growing Young Executives program goes far beyond teaching resume writing and interviewing techniques. The program will address such topics as communication skills, gender relations, impression management, teamwork concepts,networking, globalization, dining etiquette, stress management, diversity, financial management, self-improvement, social responsibility, and conflict resolution.
  • College professors and consultants from Workplace Success Group will lead numerous open discussion groups. In addition, students will hear presentations by businesspeople in such industries as finance, human resources, law, and entertainment
  • Undergraduate college students will coach students in building “accountability circles” that will hone communication, teamwork, and networking skills. Students will be encouraged to participate in an online accountability circle program for one yearafter the summer program has ended.
  • Students will develop leadership and teamwork skills through work on projects. At least one project will involve a community service challenge at a Hartford-area charitable organization. Students will be encouraged to participate in an online accountability circle program for one year after the summer institute has ended.

The Growing Young Executives program is organized and operated by Workplace Success Group LLC and is housed in the Gray Conference Center on the campus of the University of Hartford, West Hartford, Connecticut.
